Lost Vape THELEMA QUEST 200W Kit; First impressions:
Curiously, Lost Vape for this powerful dual-battery kit has chosen a name already used for its previous All-In-One product … Quite different in appearance and size.
Here you find my review: Lost Vape Thelema 80W

LostVape Thelema Quest 200W 7.jpg

Like all Lost Vape products, also in this case the impression is of great strength and structural solidity with a high degree of finishes, despite all this Thelema is a kit that basically belongs to a rather affordable price range.

The design of this 2-battery Mod is of a “classic” type like there are many others, however one gets the impression of handling a Hi-End device. The weight is quite low, only 150g empty. I was particularly pleased to find the UB Pro Pod tank that had fully satisfied me during the Lost Vape Grus v2 Mod test.

For this review I received the Black version with transparent battery cover which is part of the “Clear” line. This line is available in 3 different frame colors. Lost vape offers the Thelema Mod with 11 different total colors that are divided into 3 variants depending on the composition material of the Cover (Clear, Carbon Fiber, Calf leather).
So you just have to be spoiled for choice if you decide to buy this item’s.

Lost Vape THELEMA DNA 250C Version:
The same Mod with the same size and the same form factor is also proposed by Lost Vape in an Extra-Luxury version with the adoption of the prestigious DNA 250C chipset inside.
For the Thelema with DNA 250C chipset and for your insights, I refer you to the official page: Thelema DNA250C MOD – Lost Vape

LostVape Thelema Quest 200W 9.jpg

Lost Vape THELEMA DNA 250C; Side view:
The element that characterizes the Clear line by Thelema is the cover with “C” design of the compartment / batteries. The transparency of the cover allows you to see inside the batteries (if they are installed), while without the batteries installed it is possible to view the entire electronic package. I already own some transparent mods so for me it is not an absolute novelty and perhaps I would have liked a “classic” version more considering that there are several Thelema setups with really nice combinations of materials and colors.

Around the transparent panel there are the uprights of the frame with engravings on the metal in full Lost Vape style, on the uprights of the frame it is possible to see on one side the writing “Lost Vape” and on the other side “Thelema Quest”. Both are laser printed and are white in color.

LostVape Thelema Quest 200W 10.jpg

Lost Vape THELEMA DNA 250C; Front / back view:
The front part of Thelema is connected at 45 ° without edges with the upper and lower part of the mod.
The 0.96 “80 * 160 pixel TFT color screen is a really nice interface, it has a lot of selectable colors, a lot of information and a good brightness.
On the display it is possible to view; the distinct percentage of residual charge of the two cells, the selected mode, the set power, the resistive value of the coil, the selected preset, the selectable supply level (soft, norm hard), the puff counter, the duration of the last puff and the “setting” selection.

The adjustment keys including that of Fire are in total 4, all slightly protruding and really solid and precise.
Through the combination of these keys it will be possible to change the operating mode or enter the setting and make the appropriate changes to customize and adjust to your liking the many available parameters of this very complete chipset which is a valid alternative to the prestigious DNA 250C.

The handle (grip) with its ergonomic rounded profile fits well in the palm of the hand.

LostVape Thelema Quest 200W 11.jpg

Lost Vape THELEMA DNA 250C; Top / bottom view:
The gold-plated floating pin 510 cup is laterally displaced and screwed to the mod via 3 torx screws. The thread is very smooth and I am absolutely delighted that the plate is raised slightly to prevent scratching the mod when screwing / unscrewing the tanks.
On the Thelema it is possible to install tanks with a maximum diameter of 27.6mm without protrusions.

On the bottom of the Mod there are two Torx screws and the identifying writings with logo and brand in white.

LostVape Thelema Quest 200W 12.jpg

Lost Vape THELEMA DNA 250C; Battery compartment:
By separating the Mod from the transparent cover it is possible to replace or insert the two cells, the upper pins as well as the lower ones are gold plated, the upper ones are spring loaded and guarantee a considerable excursion to facilitate the insertion of the cells. For the extraction of the two batteries there is a comfortable white lace.
On the Mod there are two powerful magnets that together with the opposing ones on the transparent cover guarantee the closure, the slight passage of air between these components performs the task of a possible safety vent for the cells.

LostVape Thelema Quest 200W 13.jpg

Lost Vape UB Pro Pod Tank:
Preciously made, this tank can be dismantled into 4 pieces, the 810 type Drip-tip has two sealing rings, the PCTG cartridge contains up to 5.5ml of e-liquid and is made of dark-colored PCTG with the metal bottom which is threaded for an effective union with the deck.

LostVape Thelema Quest 200W 14.jpg

The classic circular tank design should not be misleading, this is not a classic magnetic connection system, the Lost Vape technicians have chosen a solid screw fixing between the Pod / PCTG parts and the steel AFC base. This could appear inconvenient when you have to change the coil compared to a magnetic system … However, the system designed by Lost Vape offers several advantages; such as the refill from the top, so you don’t need to detach the tank to fill it.
Another great plus is to be able to count on a better regulation of the air, in fact the screwing system compared to the magnetic one reduces drafts to a minimum and is much more precise. The coils are inserted under pressure from below.
The UB Pro Pod Tank AFC system is designed with a triple air intake to hit the coil with a wide and balanced flow.

LostVape Thelema Quest 200W 19.jpg

Vaping test and final conclusions:

• Mesh-Coil UB Pro P1 NI80 from 0.15Ω Range 70-90W:
Given the great power that can be reached by this coil, the triple AFC is 100% exploitable. Starting from 70W (minimum range), the reactivity to the Fire is immediate, from 80 to 90W with AFC wide open you undoubtedly get a great yield and a lot of vapor emission, the power supply seems constant and the coil does not show to suffer from the highest powers . The Puff is always very quiet. By slightly choking the AFC, the aromatic yield increases hand in hand with the heat. To obtain the best aromatic performance with the new coil, you must first consume a couple of Tanks.

• Mesh-Coil UB Pro SS904 from 0.3Ω Range 60-70W:
This very interesting Mesh-Coil can be used indifferently in VW or in TC / SS904 with settings between 260-290 ° C and 500-550 ° F.
The first impressions beyond the modality used are those of a balanced Coil and as a flavor the sugary part of the liquid seems to be very accentuated.
The initial power delivery is certainly faster in VW mode, in TC you feel a greater linearity of the Puff, I am not a TC expert and I rarely use it, however I think it is a nice Vaping experience for newbies, moreover I assume that with the use of TC it is also possible to obtain a longer duration of the coil.

• RBA UB Pro Postless:
I was fine with the supplied Ø3mm coil which turns out to be 0.3Ω.
I started at 30W and since its liquid supply is very good, I ended up using it at 37W without any inconvenience.
The 5ml of liquid that contains the cartridge and the medium / low consumption of liquid allow long vaping sessions, some small difficulties with the small screws of deck can be encountered during the build of the coil, however it seems to me a good very balanced RBA for a good flavor, the solution of keeping a hole under the coil of only Ø2mm while maintaining a slightly contrasted puff seems to me to be guessed right.

Lost Vape THELEMA QUEST 200W Kit; PRO:
• Superior quality Lost Vape construction
• Wide choice with various combinations of materials and colors
• 5 Vaping modes: VPC, Bypass, Watt, Volt, TC (SS316 / Ti / Ni)
• 3 power steps (Soft, Norm Hard)
• 3 additional user memories
• Type-C charging
• Adjustable AFC in steel
• Convenient side trim at the top
• Coil UB Pro 0.3ohm for TC
• RBA UB Pro available for purchase separately
• Replaceable 810 Drip Tip
• Convenient price

Lost Vape THELEMA QUEST 200W Kit; Tips:
• The TCR function is missing

The new Quest 200W Chipset is reliable as well as full of functions and widely adjustable, it provides more stable performance than the average of Chinese circuits with a powerful output adjustable on 3 boost levels, also in the menu for TC you can immediately set the wattage you want, the temperature and power can be accurately set in SS / TI / NI modes, saved and overwritten in three different user presets. The management of the settings with the convenient “mode” button and the battery life with the new Quest 2.0 chipset are really good.
Lost Vape defines its chipset as a valid alternative to the DNA 250C, certainly you cannot blame it given the almost 100 euro difference in price between Thelema Quest and Thelema DNA, such as to justify the absence of the TCR.

The 26mm UB PRO tank best interprets the type of circular design tanks with replaceable 810 drip-tip, the performance of the AFC is optimal for the Flavor and the ease of use with the refill placed at the top makes this operation very convenient and fast.

I liked the Thelema Quest 200W Kit a lot and it can be defined as a high-end object but which is offered at a popular price that is particularly affordable for the excellent quality / price ratio.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks to Lost Vape for sending me the product for review.

CONS

  • Type-C port is on the bottom (can’t stand it up while charging)
  • Takes over an hour to charge the 1200mAh battery
  • Drip tip isn’t removable

The Ursa Mini Pod Kit from Lost Vape is the latest in their Quest line of devices. While Lost Vape are known for high-end devices with DNA chips like the Lost Vape Centaurus and Orion Plus, their Quest Line is made up of more affordably priced devices. This doesn’t mean that they’re not good devices, though. In fact, the majority of the Quest devices that we’ve reviewed here on Versed Vaper have proven to be great (although there were a few that didn’t fare so well).

The Ursa Mini is the smaller brother to the Ursa Multi Kit that Daniel reviewed a couple of months back. It retains a similar design but is now much smaller and lighter. As opposed to the high power of the Ursa Multi Kit, the Ursa Mini is a low powered pod vape that will fire up to 30W and it packs a 1200mAh internal battery that charges through Type-C charging.

This device was sent to me directly by Lost Vape for the purpose of this review.

Design & Build Quality

The Ursa Mini keeps the same sort of design that we’ve seen on the Ursa Multi Kit and Lost Vape Grus. It’s made of zinc alloy and stainless steel and has a tall and slim shape with panels on both sides. I really liked the design of the Grus and Ursa Multi so I’m glad that they stuck with the same design here.

But this is the Ursa ‘Mini’ after all so it’s nowhere near as large as its older brothers. It stands at 107mm tall and it is 26mm wide and about 31mm deep. It’s also surprisingly light so it feels nice in the hand. It has a little bit of weight to it so that it doesn’t feel cheap, but it isn’t heavy at all.

There are 8 color combinations for the Ursa Mini. These will each get you a different panel design and a different body color. I received the “Crystal Cream” color which has a brushed silver frame and silver panels with shiny accents. The panels on my unit almost feel like they’re made of a smooth fabric which is cool. I think that it looks very nice.

The branding is really subtle and not in your face at all. Lost Vape is printed in small lettering on one side of the frame and Ursa Mini on the other. Aside from this branding and the panels, the rest of the Ursa Mini is smooth and plain. I think that the shape and design are enough to make it a good looking device; there’s no need to go overboard with designs and logos. I say good job to Lost Vape with the design.

At the top of the Ursa Mini, just below where the pod sits, is an airflow control ring. This ring works on a stopper and has vertical lines cut into it for grip. The ring turns very smoothly and has just the right amount of resistance where it will stay where it’s set, but will not turn by accident.

The airflow setup is made of 4 holes on each side of the AFC ring; 1 large hole and 3 successively smaller holes. This gives you the option of a more open draw when using the lower resistance UB Lite coils, or you can restrict it down to use the MTL-oriented coils. I’ll get more into the airflow in my performance section.

There are 3 buttons on the front side of the Ursa Mini. All of the buttons are made of plastic. The fire button is square while the adjustment buttons are long and slim with rounded edges. All of the buttons are very tactile and responsive.

The 0.69” display is dated looking but it works well. It’s nice and bright and easy to read, it just looks very old school. Still, I like the simplicity and that it does what it’s supposed to do and that’s give you basic information. Unfortunately, there’s no battery percentage indicator on the screen.Lost Vape Ursa Mini Pod

The pod is held in place with magnets and it’s very secure. There’s a little bit of wiggle if you try moving the pod but none during regular use. The pod has quite a dark tint to it so it can be hard to see your remaining ejuice if there’s not enough light. However, holding it up to a light source lets you easily see how much ejuice you have left.

The fill port on the pod is on the underside so you have to remove it to refill. It’s plugged by a rubber plug that seems to work well. I haven’t had any ejuice leak out whatsoever so it’s definitely doing its job.

The drip tip on the pod is not removable and seems to be 510 sized. A swappable 510 drip tip would have been nice.

The design and build quality of the Ursa Mini are just as good as it’s older brother, the Ursa Multi. The appearance and finish of the frame and panels are very attractive and give the Ursa Mini a classy look. As a whole package it just feels like a quality product that is very well made.

CoilsLost Vape Ursa Mini Coils

The Ursa Mini uses Lost Vape’s UB Lite coils, the same coils used by the UB Lite Pod Kit. Included with the kit are a 0.4Ω UB Lite L1 coil (20-30W) and a 1.0Ω UB Lite L6 coil (10-15W). These coils just push fit into the bottom of the pod. Just be aware that you have to line up the flat sides of the coil for it to line up properly and fit all the way in.

In addition to the two coils that come with the kit, you can also get two other coils: a 0.8Ω UB Lite L3 coil (12-17W) and a 1.4Ω UB Lite L5 Coil (8-10W). This gives you two options for MTL vaping and two coil options for DL vaping. The 0.8Ω, 1.0Ω, and 1.4Ω coil can all be used for vaping nicotine salts. I have all of these coils on hand so I will be going over each of them in the performance section.

Battery Life & ChargingLost Vape Ursa Mini 5

The Ursa Mini has a 1200mAh internal battery that is non-removable. For the size of this device I was expecting a larger battery but it turns out that for lower wattage vaping this battery does just fine. When using the lower wattage MTL coils at up to 15W, I always got at least a day of use, usually a day and a half. But with the 0.4Ω coil at 30W the battery life was nowhere near as good and tended to die before the day was half way through.

The Type-C charging port is located on the bottom of the Ursa Mini so you have to lay it down on its side to charge. While charging, the screen displays a battery icon animation but it doesn’t give any actual info as to what the charge level is or how long it will take. Charging times are a little long; I timed an hour and 10 minutes for a full charge.

PerformanceLost Vape Ursa Mini 6

The Ursa Mini isn’t about giving you every feature and option possible in a pod vape. No, this is a device that is meant to reliably produce vapor and good flavor — that’s it. You can lock the adjustment buttons by holding up and the fire button and clear the puff counter by holding the down and fire button. Other than that, there are no settings or menus to worry about. What you get with the Ursa Mini is a simple and small vaping device.

I have the following coils that I will be going over:

  • – 0.4Ω UB Lite L1 coil (20-30W)
  • – 0.8Ω UB Lite L3 coil (12-17W)
  • – 1.0Ω UB Lite L6 coil (10-15W)
  • – 1.4Ω UB Lite L5 Coil (8-10W)

Starting off with the 0.4Ω coil, this is a DL coil. It has a range of 20-30W but I always used it at the maximum of 30W which was not good for battery life. This was where I got the best flavor from this coil though and where the coil felt like it was performing at its best. I used a 6mg, 80VG ejuice with this coil and the flavor is better than I was expecting it to be. Wide open airflow gives a nice DL draw that can be cut down to a restricted DL. It’s not completely wide open and airy even on the most open airflow setting though so it might not satisfy those who like very airy draws. Other than that, this coil is amazing.

The 0.8Ω coil is sort of a dual use coil. It can be used for RDL vaping or for a loose MTL vape depending how you set the airflow. It can also be used with either regular ejuices or nic salts. Being a sort of dual use coil, it shouldn’t surprise you that it doesn’t do excellent for either use. It’s not a bad coil but it’s just not as good as it could be if the resistance was changed just a little more up or a little more down. I found 15W to be perfect no matter what ejuice I used, but I kept the airflow open for regular nic ejuices and closed it down when using nic salts.

The 1.0Ω coil was my personal favorite of the four. I set it to 13.5W and loaded up my 30mg nic salt and the vape is just heavenly. It’s a great mouth to lung vape with just one or two holes open. This can be opened up to a looser MTL draw by opening up the airflow even more. Flavors from my ejuice are individually discernible with this coil and that’s not something that can be said about every pod vape/coil.

Last and also least is the 1.4Ω. This coil has a very small range of 8-10W. Honestly, I found this coil to be disappointing. The vapor is very cool, even at 10W, and the draw feels very weak. With nicotine salts I expect to get a full draw but that wasn’t happening from this coil. Lack of flavor and a weak draw are the key points of the 1.4Ω coil.

Verdict

The pros of this kit far outweigh the few cons that I found. The Ursa Mini is a light and compact pod vape that delivers on flavor and can be used for either MTL, RDL, or DL vaping depending on the coil that you use. It isn’t the most full featured device on the market, far from it, but it provides what most people are looking for in a vape — good performance and flavor. The good looks and nice design are a nice bonus, too.

I can anticipate that Lost Vape UB Lite Pod Kit in MTL mode really surprised me!

In this last period we have been invaded by an infinity of useless Pod systems, most of these devices do not have intelligent control functions and cannot satisfy users at the level of AFC adjustments. Furthermore, the “basic” systems with disposable cartridges often do not offer good performance, the stroke in the throat and the aromatic restitution are in most cases limited, forcing the user to use very “charged” liquids.

Lost vape has solved all these problems by creating UB Lite Pod Kit, the device uses three new replaceable coils with Restricted Direct to Lung (RDL) and Mouth To Lung (MTL) performance in the arc of use comparable to those of the best tanks.

UB Lite Pod Kit with its 1,000mAh battery that is recharged via the USB Type C port is capable of delivering up to 30W, but the power is nothing without control, so Lost Vape has devised a simple but really very much AFC system effective able to ensure a puff in the same way very narrow or discreetly open.

The UB Lite Pod Kit chipset offers the possibility of vaping both in automatic mode and in “fire button” mode with the useful function of being able to exclude the button by blocking it. In addition, the kit despite not having a display, is suitable for the user, in fact it has a Smart recognition function, with the LED that changes color when the cartridge is inserted, associating a preset color to each coil.

Lost Vape UB Lite Pod 6.jpg

First impressions:
I was expecting the usual system with “disposable” cartridges luckily I was proved wrong, in fact UB Lite Pod Kit uses a new version of replaceable Mesh-Coils of the Ultra Boost Lite series, this relieved me because I had the opportunity to try other products similar to this one from Lost Vape like Aspire’s AVP Cube which are undoubtedly more evolved than a basic system.
In addition to the two different coils supplied, Lost Vape sent me another one to try and this pleased me, so I can give a more in-depth evaluation.

I was sent two samples, one in “Tiffany Green” and the other in “Space Silver”. The whole range has sober and attractive colors with well executed finishes.
At first glance UB Lite Pod Kit has a very simple design with the classic tube shape but with a flat side, the construction is made of aluminum so it is a sufficiently robust and light device, portability is naturally magnificent, included in the package there is also a lanyard with a sturdy rubber ring

Lost Vape UB Lite Pod 7.jpg

Lost Vape UB Lite Pod 8.jpg

The flattened front side is finely finished with a texture of transversal lines barely perceptible to the touch, the upper part has a reference inlet for the direction of insertion of the cartridge. Centrally there is the Led and the small metal Fire button slightly protruding and round shape, at the bottom there is the Lost Vape logo and the writing “UB LITE”

Lost Vape UB Lite Pod 9.jpg

On the back there is the AFC system with a small metal adjustment knob, the RDL writing indicates the direction to follow to obtain an open vape, while the MTL writing indicates a choice of restricted puff, then there are many small notches that indicate intermediate options for fine and precise adjustment.

Lost Vape UB Lite Pod 10.jpg

Lost Vape UB Lite Pod 11.jpg

Inside the compartment / pod there is a metal ring that has three functions; the first is to act as a joint for the cartridge, the second function is to prevent lateral infiltration of air, thus making the adjustment of the AFC much more precise than all other competitive devices. On the bottom there are the gold-plated contact pins and the automatic shooting activation sensor that remains hidden under the ring (third function), therefore protected from liquid infiltrations, all this seems to me very rational and intelligent.

On the bottom of the device there is the Usb-C charging socket, three vent holes for the integrated battery, the logo and the reference to the production area.

UB Lite Pod 2ml:

The cartridge is made of dark PCTG, but this does not prevent you from seeing the liquid level, the suction terminal has a comfortable flattened shape, the refil is of the lateral type protected by a silicone rubber cap and the UB Lite Mesh Coil are inserted from below with the “press and pull” method.

– Power on / off: Press the Fire button 5 times within 2 seconds, the white led blinks 5 times.
– Lock / Unlock: Press the Fire button 3 times to lock and unlock the device.
Automatic activation will continue to work with the Fire button locked.

Lost Vape UB Lite Pod 18.jpg

Charging indications:
The LED indicator shows the battery levels as follows:
– Red light <3.7V
– Blue light <3.9V
– Green light; fully charged

Lost Vape UB Lite Pod Kit has a built-in DC 5V TYPE-C port. By connecting the USB port to a power source, the LED indicator emits a color referring to the battery charge level, once fully charged the green light remains steady.

Protection:
While charging, the device does not work for safety reasons.

Low battery:
If the voltage before use is less than 3.3V the LED indicator will blink 5 times and the output will stop automatically.
During use, the output stops automatically if the voltage is lower than 3.0V.

Short circuit:
White light flashes 3 times when short circuit occurs.

Open circuit:
When no atomizer is installed, the indicator flashes 3 times.

Cut Off:
The LED indicator flashes 8 times and the output power stops when 10s of consecutive puff is reached.

Vaping test and conclusions:
If on the one hand I appreciated the simple lines of this device, the dimensions and its sobriety in the colors, on the other hand I was really impressed by its performance over the entire range of MTL use to the point of trespassing in the context of a vape RDL. In practice, Lost Vape UB Lite offers high-level performance that is difficult to find in similar devices from the competition.

The credit undoubtedly goes to the new replaceable UB Lite coils which are supported by a truly apt and rare AFC adjustment.
The question I asked myself from the start is is 1,000 mAh are enough?
The answer … Although I would have preferred at least 1,500mAh is Yes!
If you are a moderate or “intermediate” vaper and do not go beyond a consumption of 3ml of liquid daily you will not need to recharge it before going to sleep.
Before charging more or less you will be able to consume 3ml of liquid regardless of whether you are using the 0.4Ω coil , the 0.8Ω one or the 1.0Ω one.
The difference between these coils is due only to the autonomy time which in the case of the 0.4Ω coil is naturally more reduced, the device with this coil works between 20 and 30W and the battery management seemed good to me throughout the period of use, without big drops in power even with the semi-discharged battery. Logically, therefore, the autonomy is considerably extended with the choice of the 0.8Ω coil and even more so with the 1.0Ω one which require a lower discharge voltage.

With the 1.0Ω coil and with reduced AFC adjustments you can get a perfect MTL vape, a good hit in the throat and a decent aromatic yield, the 0.8Ω coil for my taste is a bomb, yes I really liked this a lot, really takes advantage of the ability to transfer the flavor characteristics of each liquid, the hit in the throat is powerful even with low concentrations of nicotine, really excellent for an MTL vape restricted adjusting the AFC towards the MTL position the “hit” increases exponentially.
As I anticipated, the 0.4Ω coil is the one that discharges the battery more quickly but it is also the one that offers an excellent aromatic yield in RDL / DL mode with a decent dose of clouds and vapor, also in this case the hit in the throat he is definitely strong and rewarding even with only 50% of the AFC opening.
All 3 UB Coils have common positive characteristics of good functioning; little formation of condensation, great “Hit” and quality aromatic yield I think that each of you will find the one that best suits your style, I am sure.

First impressions:
GRUS v2 differs from the previous model in two aspects, the first visible instantly and the other purely technical visible only to the user during use. The visible aspect is represented by the new 5.0ml circular UB PRO Tank or 5.5ml UB depending on the choice, the technical aspect is derived from the presence of a completely renewed chipset, particularly rich in functions, stable and performing.

It would be simple and reductive to describe the appearance of this Mod to a simple geometric figure, in reality the surfaces are an animated set of convexities, curves, bevels, grooves and flattened areas. There are no edges, the lines always connect with each other in a sweet and functional way to ergonomics and tactile pleasure.

Lost Vape Grus v2 Mod+UB Pro Tank 7.jpg

The frame is built entirely of zinc alloy, this is the stainless steel parts; the base 510, the support base of the Mod and the battery compartment cap. The plastic parts concern the front panel which contains the display and the control keys.

With so many metal parts the weight of the Grus v2 Kit rises up to 215g! However, you are well prepared to bear this weight, thanks to an ergonomic form factor guessed in the smallest details, moreover the slightly rounded surfaces of both narrow sides favor the grip on the mod.

Lost Vape Grus v2 Mod+UB Pro Tank 8.jpg

The 0.96 “TFT Display is an integral part of a screen that also houses the fire button, the Mode button and the Up / Down adjustment buttons. The Display has 6 background colors, the visibility of the fonts in some occasions is not exactly optimal , the display shows all the information useful for vaping except the Volt reading in the VW configuration. To read Voltage it is therefore necessary to switch to the VV mode.

Lost Vape Grus v2 Mod+UB Pro Tank 9.jpg

The side view of the Mod shows a different insert in the center depending on the color variant chosen, these samples are part of the categories called by Lost Vape “universal series” and “carbon fiber series”.
In the structure of the Grus it is easy to distinguish the areas of the steel frame from those in zinc alloy, the latter are painted the others are not. The writing “Grus” heads high on the side profile of the 510 cup, on the opposite side the writing is that of the Brand (Lost Vape).

Lost Vape Grus v2 Mod+UB Pro Tank 10.jpg

The steel cup is fixed to the Mod via two torx screws, the thread is a classic 510, the contact pin is floating, you can use atomizers with a diameter of up to 31mm without protrusions!

The particular shape of the support base gives great stability to the Grus, on this surface there are three vent holes for the cell, the C E mark, the disposal logo and the words “Designed and Manufactured by Lost Vape Ltd” are shown. Also on this surface we find four torx screws and the cap (with handle) to access the compartment / battery.

Lost Vape Grus v2 Mod+UB Pro Tank 11.jpg

The Grus Mod can use different types of cells (18650-20700-21700), The 18650 cell fits with an adapter present in the Kit.

UB Pro Pod Tank and UB Pod Tank System:

The 5ml UB Pro Pod Tank Cartridge uses a replaceable 810 drip tip and is designed to accommodate the new UB Pro Coil series and the new RBA Pro.
The 5.5ml UB Tank Cartridge uses a replaceable 510 drip tip and is made to accommodate all UB coil series and RBA UB base.

Lost Vape Grus v2 Mod+UB Pro Tank 13.jpg

The classic circular tank design should not be misleading, this is not a classic magnetic connection system, the Lost Vape technicians have chosen a solid screw fixing between the Pod / PCTG parts and the AFC steel base. This could appear inconvenient when you have to change the coil compared to a magnetic system … However, the system designed by Lost Vape offers several advantages; such as the refill from the top, so you don’t need to detach the tank to fill it, another great plus is to be able to count on better air regulation, in fact the screwing system compared to the magnetic one reduces drafts to a minimum, much more accurate.
The AFC systems of UB Pod Tank and UB Pro Pod Tank are designed with triple air intake to hit the coils with a balanced flow.

* If you have chosen the Grus v2 version equipped with UB PRO Pod Tank you can buy the UB Pod tank version separately.

RBA UB Pro and RBA UB build:

The postless deck for the RBA UB Pro is larger in size than the velocity deck of the RBA UB Pro which is quite small, however neither is difficult to regenerate, the only difficulty is getting the right amount of cotton in the velocity style tank which must be precise to avoid dry puffs.

Lost Vape Grus v2 Mod+UB Pro Tank 19.jpg

Final Conclusions:

Grus v2 kit I call it a high-end mod at a popular price, built in resistant zinc alloy it is aesthetically pleasing but rather heavy. The Mod allows the use of 21700/20700/18650 cells and Type C charging.

The new Quest 2.0 Chipset provides more stable performance with a powerful delivery and adjustable to 3 boost levels, also in the menu for TC you can immediately set the wattage you want, the temperature and power can be fine-tuned in SS / TI / NI modes , saved and overwritten in three different user presets.
Performance, and battery life with the new Quest 2.0 chipset are significantly improved.

Grus v2 Kit with the new 26mm UB and UB PRO tanks has best interpreted the technology of circular design tanks by optimizing AFC performance and ease of use (refil).
UB and UB PRO Tank enjoy a complete series of coils and accessories, but one of the best aspects of the Mod Grus is the fact that they can use large after market atomizers, up to 31mm without overflowing.

Here are my impressions with the two tanks, the main coils and the two RBA modules:

– UB Pro Tank 5ml
Mesh-Coil UB Pro P1 NI80 from 0.15Ω Range 70-90W:
This new generation Coil must be combined with the 5ml UB Pro cartridge.
Given the great power that can be reached, the triple AFC is 100% exploitable. Starting from 70W (minimum range), the reactivity to the Fire is immediate, from 80 to 90W with AFC wide open you undoubtedly get a great yield and a lot of vapor emission, the power supply seems constant and the coil does not show to suffer the highest powers .
The Puff is always very quiet, by slightly choking the AFC, the aromatic yield increases hand in hand with the heat. To obtain the best aromatic performance with the new coil, you must first consume a couple of Tanks.

– UB Pro Tank 5ml
0.3Ω Mesh-Coil UB Pro SS904 Range 60-70W:

This very interesting Mesh-Coil can be used indifferently in VW or in TC / SS904 with settings between 260-290 ° C and 500-550 ° F.
The first impressions beyond the modality used are those of a balanced Coil, with a dry Puff, the flavor seems to me to be very accentuated the sugary part of the liquid.
The initial power delivery is certainly faster in VW mode, in TC you feel a greater linearity of the Puff, I am not a TC expert, I rarely use it, however I think it is a good experience, I was missing it.
I assume that a longer coil life can also be achieved with the TC.

– UB Pro Tank 5ml
RBA UB Pro Postless Style:

I was fine with the supplied Ø3mm coil which turns out to be 0.3Ω.
I started at 30W and since its liquid supply is very good, I ended up using it at 37W without any inconvenience.
The 5ml of liquid that contains the UB Pro cartridge and the medium / low consumption of liquid allow long vaping sessions, some small difficulties with small screws can be encountered during the build of the coil, however it seems to me a very good RBA balanced for a good flavor, the solution of having a Ø2mm under-coil hole seems to me to be guessed right.

– UB Tank 5.5ml
0.2Ω Ultra Boost Mesh-Coil M4 with 40-60W Range:

The coil, as expected, has the same good yield as the other Sub-Ohms of the PRO series, I use it with open air-flow at 45 / 50W, by restricting the AFC aperture you get big improvements in the quality of the aroma.
The body of the steam is remarkable, the puff is soft and silent, you can reach 60W (maximum limit of the coil) without showing any signs of failure.

– UB Tank 5.5ml
Ultra Boost MTL regular Coil 1.0Ω with 8-15W range:

This resistance (not mesh) has two air-flow holes so small that they hardly need to be choked to get a good MTL puff.
I found the best compromise at 13.5W, the vapor is dry, warm enough, with Hit quite similar to traditional cigarettes, the consumption of liquid is very limited, the 5.5ml capacity of the Ultra Boost Tank really last a long time.
By completely closing the AFC ring but also by adopting a more restrictive Drip-Tip 510, the 1.0Ω Ultra Boost MTL coil by lost Vape is really optimal for an MTL vape and satisfies a lot the blow in the throat even with low concentrations of nicotine, I don’t I would never have expected such a good result from a Tank devoted to lung vaping, thanks to the AFC regulation (completely closed) which is very precise and does not let air drafts through.

– UB Tank 5.5ml
RBA Ultra Boost Velocity Style:

This is certainly a useful accessory for those who want to have fun building MTL / RDL Coils, however it is not so easy to achieve the performance of the excellent Ultra-Boost Coils.
With this little RBA you can try your skills, even newbies can learn since it is not difficult to builds.
If you prefer the open Puff I recommend the purchase of the other Deck RBA UB Pro Postless Style combined with the Tank UB PRO.

Lost Vape Grus v2 Quest Kit 100W Highlights:

First impressions:
When for the first time I touched some details, I immediately thought of the Ursa as the best creation of 2020 as regards the so-called universal devices (pod + mod) and the impression I got from it is of great robustness.

The frame is entirely built in zinc alloy, the stainless steel parts are the additional ones, that is: the compartment / battery cap, the base / airflow and the 510 adapter with respective super reliable coupling system.

With so many metal parts the weight of the Ursa goes from 153gr when empty to 173gr (pod version) to 193gr with 510 adapter, they are not few! However, even with a 21700 cell inserted, its portability remains excellent and not at all tiring, thanks to a form factor guessed in the smallest details, strongly inspired by that of the previous Grus Quest.

The design is a set of convexities, different materials, curves, bevels, grooves without sharp edges and lively lines that are always connected to each other in a sweet and functional way ensuring great ergonomics and tactile pleasure during the vape.

Lost Vape URSA Quest 100W how it’s made:
This sample is part of the color choice category called “SS Ukiran Leather” by Lost Vape.

The side view showcases the lively design of the Ursa with a thick leather insert in the center, with a high color density, with a very pronounced surface roughness. The texture and design of the leather insert vary from panel to panel.

The inscription “Ursa Quest” laser engraved and is placed vertically downwards. The writing on the other side (in the same position) is that of the Brand (Lost Vape).

Lost Vape URSA 100W 8.jpg

The front and rear side are very interesting, at the top there are two opposing metal buttons that are used to operate the robust coupling / release mechanism of the pod and its accessories.

On the front side in a slightly recessed position there are the square-shaped fire button, the 0.96 “color oled screen, the Up / down adjustment keys with the Mode key in the center for quick access to the menu functions.
* The keys are all metallic with good tactile feedback.

The rear area under the eject button is completely smooth, the slightly rounded surfaces of both narrow sides favor the grip on the mod.

The Pod compartment in my view is a work of art, on the bottom there is the spring-loaded contact pin and on the sides there are two metal spurs operated by the external keys I mentioned earlier, this coupling system / release for the cartridge and for additional 510 module is the most robust, stable and well-made solution that I have ever seen on these systems, the “Voltage Drop” is zeroed. Congratulations Lost Vape you won!

Lost Vape URSA 100W 11.jpg

The 510 adapter can even be dismantled for any repairs, on the sides there are two large hooking loops, the 510 adapter it has a diameter of 31mm and a weight of 43gr! The pin is gold plated and is spring loaded.

Lost Vape URSA 100W 12.jpg

The shape of the support base of the Ursa gives it great stability, on this surface there are three vent holes for the cell, the C E mark, the disposal logo and the words “Designed and Manufactured by Lost Vape Ltd” are shown. Also on this surface we find four torx screws and the cap (with handle) to access the compartment / battery.

Lost Vape Ursa can use different types of cells (18650-20700-21700) for the 18650 an adapter is available in the kit.

Ursa Pod System:
It involves the use of two different cartridges, both made of PCTG with replaceable drip-tip and refill in a comfortable lateral / high position.
The 7ml Ursa Pro Pod Cartridge uses a drip Tip 810 and is designed to house the new UB Pro Coil series and the new RBA Ursa Pro.
The 6ml Ursa Ultra Cartridge uses a 510 drip tip and is designed to accommodate all the UB coil series and the UB RBA base.

Both cartridges screw onto a special and sturdy AFC steel ring.

Deck RBA UB Pro:
Kindly Lost vape sent me the RBA kit (sold separately) for my test and I thank them.
the RBA kit includes:
– 1 Postless RBA Deck
– 1 Screwable Chimney
– 1 510 adapter
– 2 Cotton laces
– 2 Ø3mm 0.3Ω Complex Coils
– 3 replacement O’ring
– 4 tightening screws.
* Note: I couldn’t find any screwdriver supplied, I’m sure Lost Vape will put it in the kit when it goes on sale.

Lost Vape URSA 100W 17.jpg

RBA UB Pro Build:

This new postless deck for the RBA URSA is quite small in size, however it is not difficult to rebuild, the only difficulty is the tiny screws to tighten the legs (good eyesight required).

The Ø2mm under-coil hole suggests a type of vape that is not too open, we will see later.
Before regenerating simply screw the 510 adapter to the RBA and screw it onto the mod for a more comfortable operation.

The legs fit comfortably from the top, I recommend cutting them to 5mm in length before inserting them.
I inserted the cotton, for the cut I took reference by folding it on the deck and cutting it slightly before the end of the buttonholes that must accommodate it.
I then screwed on the bell and moistened the cotton with my 70/30 tropical liquid.

Cut Off: Over 10s, the output will be automatically cut off and the screen shows “Over 10s” when you vape over 10s continuously

Lost Vape URSA 100W 19.jpg

Final Conclusions:
This kit allows the use of most atomizers on the market with a useful diameter of 31mm, I tried to install atomizers with a diameter of 27-28mm and even smaller ones up to 25mm, no one clashes. The mod has a good speed to puff, it seems to me that it also manages the batteries very well.

– Mesh-Coil UB M4 0.2Ω with 40-60W Range:
I had already tried it with the Thelema 80W, but I wanted to see how it performed when paired with the 6ml UB cartridge with Drip-Tip 510 (replaceable).
I therefore used the same tropical liquid as the previous test (Thelema).
The coil as expected has the same good yield, on the Thelema I use it with open air-flow at 45 / 50W, with the Ursa it is sufficient to open the AFC to 50%, opening it more does not have major improvements.
The body of the steam is remarkable, the puff is soft and silent, you can reach 60W (maximum limit of the coil) without showing any signs of failure.

– Mesh-Coil UB Pro P1 NI80 from 0.15Ω Range 70-90W:
This new generation Coil must be combined with the 7ml UB Pro cartridge with the Drip-Tip 810 (replaceable).
In this case the AFC can be used at 100% Starting from 70W (minimum range), the reactivity to the Fire is fast, the Puff is quite noisy with the AFC ring completely open, by choking the AFC the noise is attenuated and improves the yield aromatic.

From 80 to 90W with AFC wide open you undoubtedly get a great yield of flavor and a lot of vapor emission, the power supply seems constant and the coil does not show to suffer from the highest powers.

– Coil UB Pro SS904 from 0.3Ω Range 60-70W:
Lost Vape also sent me this very interesting Mesh-Coil to be used in VW or in TC / SS904 with settings between 260-290 ° C and 500-550 ° F.
The first impressions beyond the mode used are those of a balanced Coil, with a drier Puff, the flavor seems to me to be very accentuated the sugary part of the liquid.
The initial power delivery is certainly faster in VW mode, in TC you feel a greater linearity of the Puff, I am not a TC expert, I rarely use it, however I think it is a good experience, I was missing it.
I assume that with the TC you can also have a longer duration of the coil itself.

RBA UB Pro:
I was happy with the supplied coil, I installed it without knowing what it was, I only know that it has a diameter of Ø3mm and turns out to be 0.3Ω.
I started using it at 30W and since its liquid supply is very good, I ended up using it at 40W without any inconvenience.
The 7ml of liquid that contains the UB Pro cartridge allow long vaping sessions, the consumption of liquid does not seem excessive to me, a symptom of a good yield.
Some small difficulties with small screws can be encountered during the coil build, however it seems to me a good very balanced RBA for a good flavor, the solution of keeping a Ø2mm hole under the coil seems to me to be guessed.

I think I have almost said everything, this universal kit (Pod + Mod) is definitely the best one out so far, it will surely be able to satisfy many people. Let’s just hope that with all these great and beautiful innovations the final price is not too high (at the moment I don’t know it).

Lost Vape Grus Review – A Diamond In the Grus?

Lost Vape Grus Review – A Diamond In the Grus?

A very smart looking single battery 100w mod so is this one for the vaping gurus?

The Lost Vape Grus review, and is it a bird a plane or a super sexy vape device?

It turns out a Grus is some kind of bird from the crane family, so calling a device ‘Grus’ makes absolutely no sense! But hey, this is vaping and the world of vaping is vast and spectacular.

Lost Vape Grus review

Lost Vape make very good devices, particularly known for high quality and not as well known for tanks and rebuildables.

The Orion range of pod systems always come to mind when I think of Lost Vape but most recently, the Lost Vape Centaurus DNA250c is what really comes to mind.

A fabulous dual battery device which is very high quality and although its over the £100 mark, its definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Single battery devices however are on a slight rise, especially with the use of a single 21700 battery, generally meaning higher wattage, and better battery life.

Lets crack on and try out the Lost Vape Grus 100w Mod.

What Can We Expect From The LostVape Grus 100w Mod?

The Lost Vape Grus mod has pretty much all the features you could expect or want from a single battery device along with coming in a number of modern, and classic styles.

Housing a battery as large as a 21700 does mean you compensate on portability but with a Zinc Alloy frame, USB Type-C Charge port, a large colour OLED display and a large enough 510 plate on top to fit a 30mm atomiser.

Lost Vape Grus mod

I’m pretty sure the Grus will suit a lot of different vapers.

Inside the Box

  • 1 x Grus Mod
  • 1 x USB Type-C Cable
  • 1 x Warranty Card
  • 1 x User Manual

The Lost Vape Grus comes in a Carbon, Wood and a Universe Series.

All three series have a Stainless Steel, Gunmetal or Black frame with different style inner panels depending on the series you choose.

lost_vape_grus_100w_box_mod_carbon_fiber_and_wood_series

Lost Vape Grus 100w Design and Build Quality

I received the Black Carbon Fibre version of the Lost Vape Grus.

The satin black finish is nice and smooth and fairly scratch resistant, and on either side of the device is a slim panel which in my case is real carbon fibre.

Lost Vape Grus in hand

Surprisingly the 2 side panels are machined so well, when you run your finger across them you can barely feel the join between the black frame and the carbon fibre panels.

I’m really impressed with the finish and quality of build with this device.

Lost Vape Grus 100w In The Hand

The Grus is quite tall for a single battery mod, but more surprising is the weight.

It isn’t heavy, but its ‘weighty’ and solid in the hand.

Lost Vape Grus display

As both a thumb, or finger firer the Lost Vape Grus works very well and fits comfortably in the hand mostly thanks to the curvature of the device.

On the one side is a clean smooth curve, and on the other curved end is the display, which is also curved very cleverly to blend into the device and sits nice and flush.

Lost Vape Grus 100w Display

An interesting slightly curved display with the Grus, which means if you don’t look at the display face-on, it almost feels like you’re looking into a fish tank.

Lost Vape Grus reviewed

However, the display is bright, clear and also has a nice option to change the display colour.

LostVape Grus Basic Operation

There are 3 buttons to worry about along with the fire button.

Interestingly, the Grus doesn’t have a main menu as such, so all changes are made within the one screen.

Lost Vape Grus

Here’s the basic steps for operation:

  • Device On – 5 click of Fire Button
  • Device Off – 5 Clicks of Fire button, then Centre Button
  • Change Power Mode – 1 Click of Centre button highlights Power Mode
  • Up Button – Voltage/Wattage/Temperature Up
  • Down Button – Voltage/Wattage/Temperature  Down
  • Up & Centre Button – Locks adjustment buttons. Will Still fire.
  • Press & Hold Centre Button – Change display colour.

Lost Vape Grus Battery Housing

The Grus uses what I would call the traditional threaded battery cap with a small latch that you can lift and unscrew the cap to access the battery housing.

There are also 3 small holes in the cap for battery venting.

Lost Vape Grus battery doorAs much as some may say this is a painful way to house a battery, and for some who aren’t very dexterous they may struggle with this cap as the handle to screw and unscrew is quite small.

But personally, I still think its one of the best ways to house a battery, more because it ensures a tight connection and there is nothing that concerns me more than loose connections…

Being an electrician, I can promise you a loose connection causes more problems than you could imagine.

Lost Vape Grus battery sled

Just ask one of the largest retailers in the UK who had 5 hours of downtime, costing them millions just because of a loose connection.

Yep…I was the fool who had to fix it and explain to the directors there was no quick fix.

How Does The Lost Vape Grus Perform?

I’ve made as much use of the large diameter 510 plate on top of the Lost Vape Grus by using everything from the usual 24/25mm RDA’s to one of my favourite 28mm RTA’s, the Oumier Bulk RTA.

Personally, I feel this device is better suited for larger atomizers, as much as it works absolutely fine with a 24 or 25mm tank or dripper, its really best suited for 28-30mm tanks and RDA’s.

Lost Vape Grus in action

But this is where it gets tricky because for the most part, its fairly normal to build lower with a larger diameter atomizer which in turn requires more power to perform.

With the limited 100w output, the Grus seems to offer you a race car, with a moped engine, but for the most part, 100 watts is plenty. It’s just for some who may like to vape at over 100 watts every day, they just wont get the power they need.

Even if a maximum of 100 watts is enough, a single 21700 battery wont last very long when used at 100 watts.

510

With regards to power output, the Lost Vape Grus hits as well as you would hope.

You may not get 100 watts out of the Grus for long, but on a fully charged battery it does feel like it comfortably hits 100 watts.

Can the Lost Vape Grus Be practical?

For a single battery device, the Lost Vape Grus is fairly large, and fairly heavy but its still streamlined enough and certainly tough enough to be used day to day.

I’d be more concerned about the 6.5ml Bubble glass on my 28mm tank than any concerns I might have about damaging the device.

510 plate

The ability to house a 21700 battery certainly helps with battery life, if you tend to vape at around 50-60 watts each day, you’ll most likely find a 21700 battery will last you a day or there abouts. Its just about enough for me, with the occasional change of battery mid-evening.

There is of course a USB Type-C Port for a decent 2amp charge so fast charging on the go is possible if you need.

Can the Lost Vape Grus be used at work?

Using the Grus at work isn’t like carrying a pod system around in your pocket that’s for sure! But its certainly easier to lug around and use than a larger dual 1865 device.

Again the concern boils down to battery life.

Are you happy to carry spare batteries especially if you a: Vape a lot, b: Vape at a high wattage. If this is no problem then the Grus is a good option for day to day work life.

Pros

  • Superb Finish
  • Feels well made
  • Clear Display
  • Easy navigation
  • Houses a 30mm atty no problem

Its hard to fault this device. One of my favourite sayings ‘It is what it is’ comes to mind. Why do I say that? The fact this can take up to 30mm atomiser yet being limited to 100 watts because its a single 21700 device really restricts this device. Hence the mark down in the ‘Design’ category. Apart from that, the Lost Vape Grus is top-notch.

Lost Vape Thelema Pod Mod Review: Is It Worth Getting?

Lost Vape Thelema Pod Mod Review: Is It Worth Getting?

 Daniel M. October 12, 2020

PROS

  • Simple to operate
  • Exceptional build quality
  • Looks great
  • Great internal battery capacity
  • Nice range of coils spanning different vaping styles

CONS

  • Difficult to see liquid level in the pod through the little window cutout

Lost Vape are known for their use of Evolv’s DNA chip in box mods such as the Paranormal and Centaurus, as well as throwing them in their Orion and Orion Plus pod kits. This has meant Lost Vape’s products have usually been a little on the pricier side.

Developing their own proprietary chip, the Quest, has meant Lost Vape have released a number of pod devices with more reasonable price tags. The Quest chip is also starting to make its way into some Lost Vape box mods, firstly with the B2B starter kit and now with the soon to be released Grus mod.

The Thelema is a pod mod powered by their Quest chip, which features an internal 3000mAh battery and can fire up to 80W.

Let’s take a look at the Thelema.

  • 1 x 510 DL Drip Tip
  • 1 x 510 MTL Drip Tip
  • 1 x USB Type-C charging cable
  • 1 x User Manual
  • 1 x Warranty Card

Specifications

  • Dimensions: 101 × 35.3 × 29.4mm
  • Weight: 152g
  • Power Output: 5-80W
  • Battery: Internal 3000mAh
  • Charging: USB Type-C 2A
  • Screen: 0.96″ TFT
  • Modes: Variable Wattage

Design & Build Quality

The Lost Vape Thelema is constructed from zinc alloy and has a leather cushion which wraps around the curved back of the body.

You can choose from three different colors; Stainless Steel, Black and Gunmetal. You can also choose which leather finish you want on the cushion; Ukiran Leather, Glossy Leather or Grain Leather. The leather comes in different colors depending on which metal finish you choose. Lost Vape do say the leather is real, too. It’s a nice touch to let you choose both the metal and leather finishes.

The Thelema is very nice to hold in the hand and the leather cushion provides a very comfortable grip. It’s quite lightweight, too, but still feels like a solid and well built device.

There are two engraved panels that run down each side of the Thelema, one has Lost Vape engraved and the other has Thelema. It looks sleek; sometimes branding can look tacky but this is done well.

Above each panel are the airflow slots which are cut diagonally into the body of the device.

On the bottom of the Thelema are the usual regulatory marks and some battery venting holes.

The top of the Thelema has a recess where the pod fits into. In the recess are two gold plated contact pins and four magnets, which secure the pod in place. The magnets are not the strongest I’ve seen, but do a fine job of securing the pod in place.

On the front of the Thelema, at the top, there is a little cut out which allows you to see the liquid level in the pod. I did find it quite difficult to see and just opted to lift the pod out to check my liquid level.

In the center of the front panel is the 0.96” TFT display. Above the screen is the fire button, which is square shaped, but with the corners chopped off. Below the screen are your up and down adjustment buttons, which are rectangular in shape and again have the corners chopped off. Below the adjustment buttons is the USB Type C charging port.

Overall, the build quality on the Thelema is exceptional. The body of the device is lovely to hold, the leather cushion is comfortable, it feels solid and well made, the screen is crisp and clear, the buttons are nice to press and are responsive in use. It looks good as well, sleek and stylish with curves and angles complementing each other very well.

Features & FunctionsLost Vape Thelema Screen

The Thelema is powered by Lost Vape’s Quest chip and is capable of firing between 5-80W.

It only features a variable wattage mode, so is very simple to use; no complex menu systems or various power modes make it a device that is suited to both beginners and more experienced vapers who want a more streamlined vaping experience on the go.

Selecting your desired wattage is done using the up and down adjustment buttons and then you use the fire button when you want to take a draw.

The display is a 0.96” TFT screen in full color and the color scheme can be changed between any of the six available options; Blue, Yellow, White, Red, Green or Purple.

There is a battery indicator in the top left of the display and the resistance of your coil in the top right. In the middle it displays your selected wattage as a nice big number, then you have the time in seconds of your last puff in the bottom left of the screen and a puff counter in the bottom right. There are also color indicators at the very bottom showing you which color scheme you have selected and the others available.

The display itself is bright, vibrant and crisp, while keeping all of the information easily visible at a glance.

The fire button and adjustment buttons are very nice to use; clicky and responsive, but not cheap feeling at all. These are actually the nicest buttons I’ve pressed on any vaping device.

The Thelema has an internal 3000mAh battery, which is a great capacity to see on a pod device. You should be able to get a full day’s use out of the battery, but if you do need to charge during the day this is done using the USB Type-C port.

The Thelema supports 2A charging and Lost Vape say it will be fully charged in approximately 60 minutes. My math says it will take about 90 minutes to charge at 2A and in reality I measured it to be approximately 100 minutes.

Thelema Button Combinations

  • Turn On / Off: Five clicks of ‘fire’ button
  • Lock Adjustment Buttons: Press ‘up’ and ‘down’ adjustment buttons together.
  • Change colour theme: Press ‘fire’ and ‘up’ buttons together
  • Reset Puff Counter: Press ‘fire’ and ‘down’ buttons together

PodLost Vape Thelema Pod

The pod is constructed from PCTG and is very darkly tinted on the top. The lower portion of the pod is more lightly tinted, allowing you to see your liquid level more clearly.

You have an option of two 510 drip tips in the box, one thinner and one thicker. Both of the drip tips fit nicely into the top of the pod and are secured by two o-rings. The thinner drip tip has a glossy finish, while the thicker one has a matte finish. While the thicker drip tip has a wider bore and is more suited to direct lung vaping, you can still use the thinner one for direct lung vaping too, so it’s a matter of which you prefer to use.

The fill port is big enough for standard sized nozzles and is covered with a rubber bung, which is quite chunky. The sample version that I received has the word ‘Oiling’ on the rubber bung. Lost Vape has advised that this was a mistranslation and it has been changed to ‘Open’ on the final production models.Lost Vape Thelema Fill Port

The bottom of the pod is where your coils are installed and they are press fit, so it’s quick and easy to remove and replace your coil when needed. You can change the coil while you have liquid in the pod too, so no need to finish the liquid with a spent coil or dump the juice.

There is an airflow control ring which is attached to the bottom of the installed coil. This is reusable, so you swap it onto your new coil when changing a coil. Don’t throw it away with the old coil. The airflow control ring lets you dial in your preferred airflow via two cyclops airflow slots and there is also a single hole if you want to restrict the airflow down to a mouth to lung draw.

The Thelema comes with two coils included in the box:

  • 0.2ohm Ultra Boost M4 Mesh Coil (preinstalled)
  • 0.3ohm Ultra Boost M1 Mesh Coil

You can also use any of the other coils in the Ultra Boost coil range; the 0.15ohm, 0.6ohm and the 1.0ohm, as well as the Ultra Boost RBA deck.

The 0.2ohm coil is rated for use between 40-60W and the 0.3ohm coil is rated for use between 30-40W.

PerformanceLost Vape Thelema 2

I first tried the 0.2ohm coil as it was pre-installed in the pod. The airflow was really smooth, I kept it fully open and the cloud production was good. Flavor on the 0.2ohm coil is good at any wattage in the recommended range, so it’s really just a case of finding the right wattage in the recommended range to suit how warm you like your vape.

The 0.3ohm coil has a similar airflow feel to the 0.2ohm coil, retaining the same smoothness. It does produce less vapor than the 0.2ohm coil, which is to be expected due to the lower recommended wattage range. Flavor is noticeably less than the 0.2ohm coil, also. It’s certainly not lacking in flavor, but just lacks the pop that I got from the 0.2ohm. I wish I’d used the 0.3ohm coil first, as coming from the 0.2ohm coil just took the shine away.

Verdict

Overall, the Lost Vape Thelema is a very nice pod mod. The internal battery has a great capacity, there is a nice selection of coils available ranging from DL to MTL, along with an RBA coil option if you prefer.

The mod itself looks great, feels great, has exception build quality and to top it off it’s really simple to use.

The only negative points I can think of is that it’s a little difficult to see your liquid level in the pod through the little cut out window.

The overall size of the Thelema is slightly larger than some other pod mod devices, which is a small trade off for having the large capacity internal battery. It still fits in the hand lovely and maintains a nice, holdable weight.

The body of this Hybrid is entirely built in solid zinc alloy, this feature raises its weight, however the extremely small dimensions and the perfect fitting of the parts favor its portability.

On the front side, the Fire key is placed at the top in its classic ideal position, its surface is mirror polished, the Fire key is made of metal, its shape is round, slightly protruding.

The screen has a 0.96-inch color TFT display that contains all the information useful for vaping, we find: the graphic level with residual battery charge percentage, coil Ω, Watts set, last Puff duration, puff counter, lock / unlock icon in the shape of a padlock, indication on the six available and selectable background colors.

The two up / down adjustment keys are basically a scaled-down execution of the Fire key.

The Micro-Usb socket is the last detail of the front and is located in the lower part.

The back side is bare, with a clean line without frills, it blends well with the lower and upper shelves.

5.jpg

Both panels are colored “Black marine”, off-centered at the top on both sides we find a black plastic insert well inserted in the line of the Mod. This detail has the dual task of making visible the level of residual liquid and to air to the coil through three slots.

The silver band present on both panels, takes on different shades of color depending on the exposure to light, on one panel the writing “Gemini Hybrid” on the other shows the writing “Lost Vape”.

6.jpg

The top shelf is an integral part of the structure, aesthetically very beautiful compared to the classic pods with often unstable attacks, the Drip-Tip 510 is replaceable.

On the bottom of the mod we find the notch to open the battery door, this notch also acts as a vent of the 18650 cell.
Always on the bottom they are present; the C E mark, the disposal logo and the words “Designed and manufactured by Lost Vape LTD”.

The pod compartment has the contact poles marked, gold / plated, with the bottom one floating. To facilitate the extraction of the cell there is a practical and useful strap marked Lost Vape.

Four magnets positioned on the four corners of the battery compartment hold the door effectively and without any movement.
In the same picture you can see the Pod installed, the air adjustment ring is completely wide open.

7.jpg

In this image the Gemini Hybrid Kit with the 18650 cell inserted, the internal part of the door being metal does not have magnets.

Included in the kit there are two rubber caps to further choke the two external air-flows, however the air control ring performs its task very well by itself, making them superfluous.

To remove the Pod from the Hibryd you must first remove the lid from the battery compartment, then you must remove the Drip-Tip, finally you must press on the recess created specifically on the top of the cartridge and pull, to insert it you carry out the reverse procedure, this operation is easier to do than describe it and it’s really simple.

9.jpg

The Hibryd has two 510 Drip-Tips, one very thin, elongated, reminiscent of a cigarette mouthpiece and is suitable for MTL vaping with the 1.0Ω Ultra Boost MTL coil, the other Drip-tip is designed for the Flavor, in my opinion the latter has an excellent performance at 40 / 45W.

The Pod with a liquid capacity of 4ml has the refil cap placed at the top, once the lid has been removed it is possible to comfortably carry out the filling operation without removing it from its seat.

The liquid control side windows offer good visual control thanks to the very clear material of the pod

We then choose the new coil and after wetting it with the liquid, we can screw it firmly to the AFC control ring, then inserting it into the cartridge.

I recommend waiting at least five minutes before starting to vape to allow the cotton in the coil to absorb the liquid well.

– Coil Ultra Boost MTL 1.0Ω range 8-15W:
With this resistance I used a liquid 50/50 at 4mg / ml of my production with Tob-Ermes aroma.
The coil (not mesh) activates surprisingly well already starting from 5W, just the time to do the break-in of the coil and I switched to 8W, the two air-flow holes on the body of this coil are so small that they hardly need to be partialized to obtain a good contrasted MTL puff.

Vaping slowly the puff is very fluid while vaping with more energy you feel the need to increase watts as the prehit curve of the mod falls.
So the steam is warm and low in quantity, the aromatic yield has yet to be defined, after a short transition to 10W with consequent general improvement I tried all possible wattages within 15W (physical limit of the coil).

I found 13.5W an excellent compromise without necessarily having to push myself beyond this threshold.
I adjusted the ring in order to have a contrasted puff, the vapor is hot enough and the aromatic yield really valid to be an MTL coil and I am not a lover of this type of vape, the vapor I perceive it dry and with a remarkable Hit, thanks to the shape of the Drip-tip this type of vape reminds me a lot of burnt cigarettes.

With this configuration, the consumption of liquid is really negligible, the 4ml of autonomy of the tank really give a lot of time to the vape before having to refill.

In this Pod-AIO-MTL configuration, Hibryd has done very well, the 4mg / ml present in my liquid fully satisfy, other atomizers with pre-set heads with this concentration (4mg / ml) have a lower yield than to what the “Ultra Boost MTL” from lost Vape, this is great news for those who want to stay away from cigarettes and receive contentment with low nicotine concentrations.

– Mesh Coil Ultra Boost M4 from 0.2Ω range 40-60W:
With this resistance I used the wide Drip-Tip 510 supplied in the kit, the liquid chosen was the Tropical from Tob, 70/30 at 0mg / ml.

As happens with other latest generation meshes, even with this Ultra Boost M4 it is surprising to observe the ability to be able to work perfectly at much lower speeds than the minimum indicated on the resistance.

At 40W with wide open air-flow I distinctly perceive the intense and unmistakable tropical aroma of my liquid, its sweetness conquers me, the vapor density is remarkable, no splash on the tongue, the puff is really smooth and soft, even the noise of suction is muffled and not at all annoying, I must say that before varying the wattage and doing air regulation tests I spent a lot of time with this configuration.

I reached 60W without the coil showing signs of sagging, or the drip-tip getting too hot, with this configuration the consumption of liquid becomes important, you have to top up the tank often, after having made several adjustments and tests I found at 45W with the air ring completely open my ideal setting, sometimes to vary I go down to 35W (under the minimum speed of the M4 coil) and close the air-flow to 50%. These in the use of Hibryd are the settings that suit me and satisfy me.
The Gemini Hibryd lives up to its name and proves capable of passing well the exam of the two MTL / DTL tests.

Note: The new 0.2 & 1.0Ω Ultra Boost Coils have been renewed to be able to use the AFC control ring.
However, all Ultra Boost coils are compatible with the Gemini Hybrid.

12.jpg

The Ultra Boost RBA package contains:
– 1 Deck Rba
– 1 spare O’ring pouch
– 1 Allen key to tighten the coils
– 2 Spare grains to tighten the coils
– 2 pre-rolled coils
– Cotton wick
– 1 510 adapter

Note: The Ultra Boost RBA coil is available for purchase separately.

13.jpg

– Ultra Boost RBA:
It is made for a Flavor / Lung use and despite its small size it is not difficult to regenerate.
The perforated turrets are easy to insert with the coil legs, the supplied Allen key fits easily on the head of the turrets to screw / unscrew the special and tiny grains, even the back combing is relatively simple, the cotton whiskers must be folded into the special notches made on the deck, once the bell / chimney has been inserted, the excess cotton can be trimmed with the help of scissors.

Note the two large slots at the base of the RBA, the lack of a special AFC makes this RBA usable only in Flavor / DTL.

I find this RBA useful for those who want to have fun building flavor builds, experimenting their skills, but after a couple of not-so-optimal attempts and given the high performance and ease of use of the pre-made coils, I prefer the Mesh Coil Ultra Boost M4, I know, I’m lazy!

14.jpg

The 510 adapter accessory that allows the Gemini Hybrid to become a real 18650 Box Mod is simple and well made, the form factor faithfully follows that of the Tank / Pod, in fact it occupies the same housing and the insertion / disarming procedure is analogous.

15.jpg

Qualitatively, this 510 adapter has nothing to do with certain improvised accessories to transform the various classic pods into Mods.

16.jpg

Aesthetically it goes unnoticed being hidden by the battery compartment panel and to the eye the Gemini looks like a real Box Mod born like this.

The Gemini Hybrid in the Box Mod version houses atomizers up to 24mm without overflowing. The particular conformation of the upper surface beveled on the sides makes it particularly beautiful even with smaller diameter atomizers.

17.jpg

The circuit of the Gemini Hybrid 80W:
– To turn on / off the device, five clicks on the fire button are required in less than two seconds.
– Sleep mode is automatically activated after 10s of inactivity.
– The wattage with the mod unlocked is activated with the Up / Down keys with an increase and decrease of 0.5W at a time from 5 to 80W.
